DepthPickâ„¢

DepthPick™ is a unique point-picking approach developed by Cupix. This feature enables you to effortlessly select 3D Coordinates within a 360° panoramic image with just a single click. Unlike the previous Stereo-matching method, DepthPick™ allows a seamless selection of 3D Coordinates on edges or corners, even on flat surfaces lacking distinct patterns or textures. By rendering the process of selecting 3D coordinates more user-friendly and intuitive, DepthPick™ enhances the overall usability of functions that demand 3D coordinate selection, such as dimension measuring.

How and When to Use DepthPick™

Using DepthPick™ is simple. If a Capture has a 3D Dollhouse in it, all you need to do is click on the desired spot, and the correlated 3D Coordinate will be automatically selected by Cupix AI.

However, if there is no Dollhouse or if the Dollhouse exists but there is insufficient geometry at the selected point, the Stereo-matching method will be initiated for point picking.

Volume Measurement

SiteView now incorporates Volume Measurement functionality and enables measurements directly from the Capture Viewer or via the 3D Dollhouse within the Plan Viewer. Thanks to Cupix's advanced 3D mapping technology, documenting the jobsite has become an effortless task and offers both accuracy and convenience. With the advent of the new Volume Measurement feature, a realm of possibilities unfolds before you: from calculating rough estimates like earth cut and fill to excavation and optimizing cargo space, or even evaluating crop growth, all these tasks can be accomplished right from the confines of your workspace.

Measuring Volume is straightforward: by simply defining a Base Plane, the tool automatically computes both the mass above the plane's surface and the space below it. For step-by-step guidance on specifying the Base Plane, please refer to the short guide videos below.

How to Set Base Plane ① - Default Method

This method is the easiest and most fundamental way to measure volume in SiteView.

  1. Pick points around the subject you want to measure and then press Enter. Base Plane will be generated automatically based on those points.

How to Set Base Plane ② - Setting Up Reference Plane

This method comes in handy when there's not enough geometry around the subject you want to measure for placing points. This method can also be used when a common reference plane is needed to facilitate easy comparison between measured volumes.

  1. Pick at least three points around the desired location, where you want to set a Reference Plane, and press Enter. Refernce Plane will be generated automatically based on those points.
  2. Pick points around the subject you want to measure and then press Enter. Base Plane will be generated automatically based on those points.

Measurement List

Our newly introduced feature allows you to save and share Measured Dimensions effortlessly with other members invited to the SiteView. When a dimension is measured, it will get sorted based on its Capture Date, mirroring the organization of Annotation. When you click on a measurement from the list, you will be promptly directed to the Measured Location. This not only facilitates a closer examination of the dimension but also enhances your comprehension of the surrounding environment. For added convenience in sharing, you can make use of the Deeplink located in the Share menu at the lower left corner of the Site View, ensuring seamless collaboration with colleagues whenever the need arises.

Measurement List's Interface

  1. Measurement Tools: Length, Radius, Angle, Plane, Path, Area, Volume can be measured.
  2. Type Filter: Only filtered type(s) of dimensions will be displayed in the Measurement List, Capture & Plan Viewer.
  3. Capture Date Filter: This filter can display dimensions corresponding to the Capture Date selected in the Main Capture Viewer only or show all dimensions from all Capture Dates.
  4. Group Menu: All dimensions in the Group can be copied to a clipboard or the entire Measurement Group can be deleted.
  5. Measurement Menu: An individual dimension can be copied to a clipboard or deleted from the Group. Measurement's name can also be edited as well.

3D Dollhouse Quality Enhancement

Our 3D Dollhouse has taken a significant leap in quality. With the use of 360-degree videos, our 3D Dollhouse not only greatly reduces noise, but also captures even the most intricate surface details, effectively addressing photogrammetric challenges such as colorless walls. This substantial technological advancement translates into a more thorough 3D representation and documentation of a jobsite's status, which makes it even easier to use for generating as-built 2D plans and BIM. It's worth noting that this improvement in quality doesn't involve any changes to our capturing method. As a result, the user's jobsite documentation remains as accessible and efficient as it has always been.
